Education & Growth
Learning and growing in our walk with Jesus is vital at every age.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. II Timothy 2:14-17 (ESV)
Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Psalm 119:11 (KJV)
Studying scripture will make us wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. It can also help us not to sin. Are there any better reasons to study God's Word?
Our church offers a variety of opportunities for continued growth and education.
WORSHIP SERVICE
At 10:30AM on Sundays we have our weekly Worship Service. This is a time of worshipping through song, scripture reading, and corporate prayer. Our pastor delivers a sermon that is firmly rooted in scripture. On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Each Sunday our children begin morning worship with the entire congregation. At the appropriate time in the service the children are dismissed to Children's Church. Here they will learn about the Bible through age appropriate lessons and crafts. Following the service they are reunited with their families for a time of fellowship (and snacking!) with everyone.
SMALL GROUPS
Small groups provide an additional opportunity for discipleship, study, and prayer. It also provides socialization, fellowship, and a time to meet with smaller numbers in an informal setting. At Terrace Heights EPC we use small groups to meet in various homes for prayer and studying God's Word together. Topics are chosen by our elders and the groups follow a plan for these topics.
PRAYER
God talks to us through His Word. Through prayer it is our time to talk to God. We express our adoration, give thanks, seek forgiveness, and petition God for needs - both our own and those of our fellow believers. At Terrace Heights EPC we believe in the power of personal and corporate prayer. We have a monthly calendar that allows us to pray for the individuals who attend our church. On the second Sunday of each month, following the morning Worship Service, we pray together for the revitalization of God's church.
